Because although that thread is easy to use for GIVING feedback, it is not easy to use for RESEARCHING feedback.  Someone would have to scroll through every page looking for info on the one person they are considering trading with.  This method will make it easy for both.

That's exactly why the search engine was invented 17 years ago.  When in a thread, type a user name into the search bar, and boom, a list of all the people that have referenced them in their post.  For example, a search for 'sk' brings up the lists of Cameron, YMT, Gabe, and Kirk, with my name highlighted and everything.

TheMarti:
The problem with this is the market will now be super cluttered with both trade posts and reference posts, and it'll be harder for us to find what many of us are really looking for.

That won't help very much.  Having 90 threads of trade references continually updated will still clutter the unread posts feature, and those that are selling cards will get fewer eyes since trading is the primary use of the current board.

Additionally, how is creating a new sub-board that will become just as cluttered as the current thread help any?  Plus, now the mods have dozens of new threads to read through... much more work than a single thread.  If you don't like the current formatting in the current references thread, just ask everyone to unify the look of their posts.  Or use search.  Cough.

Actually, I do really like that thread by SS.  The only problem there is that it is out of date every time someone posts a trade feedback on anyone.  Whereas the one that I just made is only out of date every time someone new wants to participate.  If SS is willing to we could combine our threads into one.  He could make the individual threads for people, and then make the names on his list be links to those pages.

The only problem with the "search" function is that often people either don't use it, or try to use it and can't find things (which makes them less likely to use it the next time).

Then:
1. Use it, everyone.  And
2. If you're not good with searching with Boolean logic, just use a single word, like you would with a concordance.  That type of search works best with the boards.  In this case, just put the user name into the search bar to see results.  (Try it on the other thread with 'sk'.  I'll wait.)  See?
