So I grew up playing Redemption as a kid in elementary school. We had Redemption packs at the local family Christian stores and at our book fair. I remember playing with my friend very casually, just playing big angels, big number enhancements, nothing really competitive, but it was fun. I quit redemption when my friend stopped playing.
I got involved in other card games, started with World of Warcraft TCG and moved onto Magic the gathering and played it for a long time. I had a small YouTube video series and paid articles for mtg. After a while I moved onto other online games and dropped tcgs.
Fouryears ago when I got engaged to my fiancé (now amazing wifey Becka), I was looking through my mtg cards to sell and ran across my Redemption cards.
I thought I should check if the game still going like or if these cards are worth anything, so I could sell them. I looked it up on the discord. I hopped on and I saw the game still going in. I get a message like immediately from Roy “ do you wanna play Redemption today?”
Wow it’s crazy like it’s still going and there’s people in San Antonio that play Redemption. He invited me over play a few games it was really awesome. The whole play group is awesome and I started going by. I’m not the person to buy product for myself so I didn’t just buy boxes Redemption to get back into it, but I started playing with the locals. They gave me a lot of free cards and then I entered some drafts and started collecting . It was a huge blessing.
I love Redemption because God‘s word is a passion of mine so to be able to have a passion of mine intersect with another passion of mine in in in playing strategic games is really fun and I love the community. I love ability that we can pray together at tournaments that we can honor God together that we can encourage each other in the faith.
