Gifts of the Magi - Any time an opponent draws because of a special ability or an enhancement, holder may draw a card.
I was wondering if it would be viable to build an N.T. gold offense in teams based on this card, because of the drawing synergy it would create. (attack with the generous widow would draw 6, martha draw 3; outside of n.t. gold if both of you have it up and attack with hur=draw 7 each, feast of trumpets choose 4= draw 12)
Or maybe it would be able to supplement a multiplayer deck better. Any opinions?

Cool idea. It would be nice if we had a "Stable" fortress that could hold Gifts of the Magi or The Manger (artifact).

I think this is a great idea! I've done Luke/Greek teams before, and it is amazing! This would make it even better, good thought.

Drawing in general is very strong in TEAMS so I don't think the offense would necessarily even need to be based around NT Luke for Gifts to be effective. You could easily splash Martha and The Generous Widow into a typical Judges offense which would give you some NT female rescuing options with an already powerful theme.

Agree with this. Or you could splash Hur and Philip's Daughters into a prophets offense.
I'm not sure a Luke/John offense would do well in TEAMS, due to the lack of heroes that can win battles outright. It is an enhancement-dependent offense, and enhancements are harder to come by in TEAMS. Better to have heroes like AUTO, Captain, Isaiah, Daniel, Philemon, Cornelius, Simeon, Moses, etc. that are a threat to win a rescue on their own every time they enter battle.

Not arguing with you, but in the game that I played, we killed it 5/0. You just need to focus on the defense, and then your heroes can walk right in.

Can you explain what you mean by "focusing on the defense"?
Is that referring to things like Meeting the Messiah, Holy Grail, etc to take out their defense so they don't have blocking options? That can be strong for sure, but keep in mind that forced draw also speeds them up so using Meeting the Messiah to convert their guy in territory could easily allow them to draw into another EC to block.

My brother and I had a lot of success years ago putting it in a deck with Loaves and Fishes in a Disciples offense. No Luke. Just draw when they did and Loaves was an added bonus.

I mean focus on their defense with abom. the drawing helps too, because the eventually have to put down their characters to avoid hand clog.

I know sharing Areo/High Places would help with TEAMS Abom decks, but until Abom is set up, and even after it is, you might not be able to do much. Both Luke/John offense and Greek defense are enhancement-dependent; if everything goes great from the start, if Abom is set up fast, then yes, 5-0 can happen. I just don't think it would be very reliable going against aggro TEAMS decks.

Yeah, now that i think about it, we did get set up pretty fast, so that definitely helped.

What about this for an offense for an offense-heavy deck in the team:
Heroes
The Magi
Hur
Sam
AWTSN
Ehud
AUTO
Gideon
The Thankful Leper
The Generous Widow
Martha
GE's
Feast of Trumpets
Provisions
Edict
Kindness
Meeting the Messiah
Repentance and Restitution
Capturing Canaan
One weakness would probably be RBD. Counters, anyone?
-
With that offense, Live Coal and Captured Ark are your best bet.
-
Oh wait... what about the CoW Sam?
Also, would probably add in Faith of Jephthah as a pretty decent enhancement with not too many ways to negate it
-
CoW Sam would only trigger off himself as I don't think you have any other 1 Samuel Heroes in that list.

That gives me an idea!
Heroes
The Magi
Hur
Samuel
Isaiah
Seraph w/a Live Coal
Angel of His Presence
Seraphim (or is it Seraph? can never remember...)
The Thankful Leper
The Generous Widow
Martha
GE's
Feast of Trumpets
Kindness
Meeting the Messiah
Repentance and Restitution
Convincing Miracle
Razor
Live Coal
Isaiah's Call
Wheel Within a Wheel
Provisions
Could even use The Generous Widow to discard easily recurrable Isaiah enhancements or Kindness! Fun ;D
Greeks would be a great defense, but with the Isaiah stuff, I was thinking Assyrians, or maybe even Demon/Magicians.
