Who uses Leviathan???
-
I do. great stand alone character! Hard to target ;D
-
If I'm playing Crimson defense I use him for sure. If I'm playing stand-alones, I use him sometimes.
-
Gotta love the Fishy! I like to "Lurk" him in.
-
He's great for an opening block, otherwise I've never really found him that useful.

leviathan + UN, banding in a btn character is farley useful.
-
yeah but you could do that with any other character with big numbers, like either of the bablyonian kings.
-
i do. great card but i can never use the special ability.
-
Too many people.

Leviathan + Midianite Attack is tough to beat
Pretty easy for any CBN hero, and there's one for almost every brigade. (ie. Michael, Joshua the HP, Amariah, Benjamin, Thomas, Ibzan, and to a limited extent Asaph)
Or you could use just about any GC and would have initiative to play any of a whole bunch of CBN enhancements.
And that assuming that you can block with Leviathan to begin with, which you couldn't against Widow or Zebulun or 3 Nails.
I don't think Leviathan is worth putting in almost any deck.
-
Leviathan is not a demon (nor is he a human). Hence, Three Nails will have no effect on him.
Leviathan is worth putting in any deck that uses a Crimson defense if there is the possibility you will face a BTN hero. Or if you might face a hero who specifically targets humans/demons.

All excellent points (except 3 Nails, I don't think that works against Leviathan). Excellent points that could be made in arguing against including KoT as well. Of Course, KoT doesn't work with Holy of Holies active either. Not to mention that Leviathan is neither demon nor human, making him more difficult to target than KoT (i.e., A Child is Born). Leviathan, like all evil characters, can be beaten, but I still think he rocks. That said, he probably wouldn't be my first choice to block Joshua the HP.
Edit: I type too slow.

Thanks for the catch on 3 Nails, I corrected my mistake.
As for stopping a BTN hero, crimson has better options.
King Merodach-baladan - 10/11 and yet still gets to play first (sometimes) against smaller GCs
King Evil-merodach - 8/11 and also protects your ECs in your territory from everything
Nebuzaradan - 9/10 and some enhs are CBN on him which is best of all against BTN
All these guys are protected by a fortress, and they are all WC which means that they can hold enhs that gives them bigger defense than Leviathan to begin with. And who wants to put more than 3 big guys in a defense? You need room for the little and medium guys too. There's just no room for Leviathan.

CBN heroes "own" these evil character also :) I think it would be in your best interest to include it in any crimson defense, i would take out Nebuzaradan, not much CBN when played on him (nothing really uuber useful) plus leviathan is better than all those when TSA is comming in for the first RA of the game. But it is all up to you really. Plus it is a FISH!!!! :o And IMO the coolest character in the game (my personal favorite).
-
I use him pretty often in decks I often use him and use un to pull out jobs wife.
-
I use leviathan. :) He's one of my favorites, and I yearn for the day when someone tries to play ship to cyprus when I block with him. :D Back on topic Leviathan has the largest numbers in the game as a character, and is also one of the hardest to target which is a good combination. It allows him to fight BTN, and crimson has the nice enhancement Midianite Attack, as well as fallen angels which can band to him. As for being hard to target, his big numbers usually mean they play first, :P so narrowing down the selection of cards that can be used to defeat him is seen quite often.
-
Hey,
I wasn't sold on Leviathan for years, until I started using it. I've been surprised by how useful he is. He's great to have early in a game against a stand alone or by the number character. And he's ideal to have late in the game when most if not all of your opponents battle winners are used up. He just somehow always ends up really hard to kill.

....or does he? ;)

Yes???? I mean he's not the only 12/12 but there isn't anything higher than that, at least nothing I am aware of. :P
-
Name another 12/12 :-p
Doubt is 0/12 micheal is 12/8 six fingered giant is 6/12.

Men of Judah. Note I said character not evil character. ;)
-
Touche' I totaly forgot about them. He is the largest ec though and only men of judah can rival his biggitiedness. Which honestly I don't like levi can't be caught by humans why should a group of humans equal him. O wells LONG LIVE LEVITHAN!

Haha, I agree. ;D Just wish they'd made the art for him be of a sea serpent/dragon instead of a big fish though. :(
-
Maybe they will when he is reprinted whenever patties run out. Yeah, but no one knows what he was all they know is Hook=fish =jonah got swallowed by levi ;)
-
Mmmm...the fire breathing part just didn't sound very fish-like to me. As far as card-play goes, they just need to make more cards with ship in the title.
-
Yeah I know it doesn't XD he'd fry himself. Yes they do, I want to face someone that plays ship to cyprus just so I can band in levi to negate it.
-
I fully expect to be playing against someone who will play ship to cyprus after I block with leviathan without even thinking about it. I even forget about that part of his special ability most of the time. Just hope I catch it if it happens.
-
I forget he HAS a s.a. I just use him for his huge numbers with my negates.
-
;) Exactly.
-
Lol I wish you luck. Levi scares my green deck.
-
Yeah leviathan seems to work best against green. When I was making my green deck I was so close to putting in sword of the lord just in case I ran into one. (and note, in the art for that card it shows him as a dragon/sea serptent)
-
Come to think of it I have sword in my green deck I use usualy use it for side battles.
-
There should be a card called:
Harpoon
3/3 green good enhancement
Discard Leviathan, or any other Fish related card.
-
Yes? ??? I mean he's not the only 12/12 but there isn't anything higher than that, at least nothing I am aware of.
;)
-
There was actually a game I played where somebody tried to play a good cap card against leviathan I didn't remember levi's ability till after the battle.....
-

Harpoon

Discard Leviathan, or any other Fish related card.
How many"fish related" cards are there?
-
Miraculous Catch comes to mind.
-
Problem is, Levithan isn't really a fish, at least I don't think he is. He's called a "serpent" or a "monster" or a "dragon".... and it's thought that dragon was used as a term to describe what we now call dinosaurs.... dinosaur wasn't coined till the late 19th century.
*shrugs* Idk. I don't think anyone does. But when I think of Leviathan I think of a Pleasiosaur (AKA: Nessie).
-
I think there's been more change of Leviathan's identifier's than Pluto's status as a planet.
-
Lol... I totally agree. Which is why Leviathan is an animal in Redemption.
I had to look that up... since when is Bear not an animal?
-
Actually it's not. All beasts are Demons. Leviathan is classified as an Animal. It used to be genderless until stupid Chris brought up a random verse that refers to him in the masculine.
-
I was correcting it as you typed that lol
-
Bear's not an animal because it was seen in a vision. The logic is that it was probably demonic in nature, I think.
-

That's not logic. Cheese is logic.
-
Hey,
Bear is not an animal in part because when he was printed animal wasn't an option.
I think there's been more change of Leviathan's identifier's than Pluto's status as a planet.
I don't remember any changes in Leviathan's identifier. He was established as male in 2002 (the year he was released) by Jonthemon when he pointed out that the reference to Leviathan in Psalms (the only reference to him in the Bible other than the Job reference printed on the card) refers to Leviathan as a he. And he was categorized as an animal at least by June 2003 (I think even earlier than that) because the June 03 REG has him categorized as an animal.

What's the Leviathan? Is it a snake? ???
-
It is probablyrefering to a crocodile, biblically.
-
It's a dolphin!
According to a midrash, the leviathan was created on the fifth day (Yalkut, Gen. 12). Originally God produced a male and a female leviathan, but lest in multiplying the species should destroy the world, He slew the female, reserving her flesh for the banquet that will be given to the righteous on the advent of the Messiah (B. B. 74a).

-
Least he's better than the Bear.
-
I mean, bear can be pretty leet. Very leet.
-

Not at all.
-
Miraculous Catch comes to mind.
Yeah, and fishers of men. But you probably won't want to discard a good enhancement with a good enhancement.
-
Leviathan + Midianite Attack is tough to beat
NO... gomer banded to Warriors fallen angel banded to leviathan, then play midianite attack, when they play something to kill you :D

Screw the midrash!! jk

leviathan + UN, banding in a btn character is farley useful.
UN only lets you search for human characters; if only you could search for an evil character.
