I know you'd say that one Andrew lol

I'm also a fan of Scribes + Momentum Change, but I'm still working out the specifics of that entire combo. More because I haven't found time to put that deck together yet...

Philly garison to green and add a elasar sword then play ANB
-
Converted Proud Pharisee+OoN. The only counters are Kir, Lurking, and Grapes (and not Kir if I have Benedictus and not Lurking if I have Wool Fleece).

The Darkness? Unknown Nation? Gates?

You can't be immune to yourself...

Please point to an official ruling that says otherwise.

yeah you can.

It's not official yet, but it should(/will?) be.
EDIT: Actually, it is official:
Immune
Immune is a special ability for characters. Immunity protects a character from being defeated or directly affected by another card.
-
Right. ANB is a different card than Ittai.

And who are you playing it on?
-
I forgot the smiley face. ;).
That REG entry says it hasn't been updated since 2007. Rob ruled it worked at nats last year. Rob > REG.
-
Printed rules > Rob since I don't have access to Rob at tournaments I host. I have no way of knowing what people have or haven't said verbally about rulings, the REG and common sense/logic are all I have to go on.
-
Has the hand limit, "lost souls in lob, not drawn", etc been written down yet?
Also, where are you seeing that in the REG? I just looked and I can't find it.
-
Glossary of Terms -> Definitions -> Immune
I dunno if the hand limit thing has, but at least there was an announcement thread about it with the ruling and the reasons for it (and it makes sense). Dunno what the "lost souls in lob" one is....

"Immune is a special ability for characters. Immunity protects a character from being defeated or directly affected by another card. An immunity card does not prevent that type of character from entering the Field of Battle. "
Nothing about immunity to your own alignment there.

The Darkness? Unknown Nation? Gates?
The first two also stopped by Wool Fleece, and Gates works once. In other words, CTB can only be reliably stopped by any deck once, twice if you're running Gates. Even then, Grapes will let me attack again.
-
Guess who is running Kingdoms (in T2, at least ;D).
-
Not as big of an issue in T2. In T1, however, the strength of CTB is that it only takes 4-5 cards to have an entire win strategy, then you've got the whole rest of your offense, whereas countering CTB takes up lots of bulk that isn't necessarily useful when facing non-CTB. Of the potential stoppers, The Darkness, KotW, and Kir are not worth it because they're basically dead cards when not facing CTB, Grapes should just be in every deck so that's a freebee, and it's unlikely that a deck will be able to utilize both UN and Gates, so that's take your pick (and UN is stopped by Naz and, more importantly, Abe's Kids), and then you've got Lurking, an underrated card but not really the best card either.
To sum it up, by me putting Asher, Jacob, and OoN in my deck, I have a win strat that's difficult to stop more than once. Adding Wool Fleece, Proud Pharisee, Herod's Temple and Holy Grail makes it impossible to stop except by Gates, Grapes, and Kir. Six cards and I have an entire offense, with room for 8-14ish more cards to add speed and beef. In the same brigade that has stuff like Jacob's Dream for Kir, Abe's Kids for Lurking and UN, Sound the Trumpet for KotW, etc.
The only reason Genesis isn't running away with the show this year is because it's slowish, but I'm developing a deck that will counteract that weakness. So far it's performing very well.

I bolded the part that supports my position (which actually was immunity to oneself, not immunity to your alignment).
