Romans Destroy Jerusalem Recursion

Is there an easier way to retrieve and play RDJ than the following? This works but requires 4 cards.

Rome in Play
Emperor + Naaman's Chariots
Play Imitating Evil to grab/play RDJ

That way seems pretty easy to me; I don't know just how easy you want if that isn't good enough. ::)

Yeah, it'd be much harder to do with demons.

Bubbleboy, the reason I ask is because I want to use it in my T2 deck. I can't have more than 1 RDJ so I have to include search and recursion cards. It's much harder to pull off than in T1 unless I use a bunch of copies of those cards, which I don't have room for in my defense.

You could band Lying Spirit or The Terrifying Beast to your Emperor (with Horses) then use Twice Afflicted.  That's not really easier since it still involves 4 cards but at least they're in the same brigade.

Good idea. That also allows me to use multiples of enhancements/characters to recur instead of Rome which is only good once.

how is rome only good once?  it doesnt get discarded by RDJ and emperor whats his bucket (Gray either Otho or Valba) can get rome out of the D/C pile whenever he wants to.  he truly builds rome in a day...everytime  ;)

I can only have 1 Rome in play, if I draw another, it is virtually worthless. However, if I have used 1 Twice Afflicted and draw another, I can use it again.

Other that Gabe's suggestion, all I can think of is demon banding and False Peace, but that's more than 4 cards, I'm sure.

If Rome is in play, you can also use Pride of Simon + Imitiating Evil... so thats 11 uses right there. How many do you need?

I'm not worried about a large number of uses, 3 is plenty since you can't have more than 3 of any individual fortress in T2. However, I am worried about how many cards I have to add in for the combo to work.

Having 3x of all the following makes for 15 cards. In a 40 card defense, that is a huge chunk.
False Peace
Lying Spirit
Warrior Class Emperor
Namaan's Chariots
Twice Afflicted

Out of the 15 though, lying spirit, the emperor, and Nammans chariot can be used for OTHER things too, its not like you MUST use those 9 for the combo.

How would you get 11 uses out of that?

5 Imitating Evil
5 Pride of Simon
Romans Destroy Jerusalem

Lambo, yes, they could be. However, not with the CTB "defense" I already have. In a different deck it'd work better since I could have a whole defense.

That works, but Demon Behind the Idol isn't a Roman which makes it a 2 turn combo.

It just has to be Roman, not necessarily an emperor. I can't think of an easy way to band them though.

Rome, Any roman - Hab with demons - DBTI - Gathering of demons - Fallen angel (crimson) - Evil spawn.

This is the recur combo that never ends.

and I thought'd be unlikely enough to be able to block against Garden Tomb to use RDJ in the first place...

WAIT! I JUST THOUGHT OF ONE! use evil armor with the terrifying beast!
problem. evil armor doesn't let you pull back an enhancement from the discard pile.

While this is interesting, it is useless after three turns because, as clock pointed out, you are only allowed to keep up too three copies of any fortress in play at one time so Z-temple or TGT gets only three strikes and then it is gone.

set aside the terifying beast for 3 turns with gathering of demons then he can band to a demon of a diferant birgade and then he can band to DBTI then when your opp trys to hurt you play evil armor and play your RDJ  :).

it would be-able to band right?..
Nope. Cuz it has a to be a different brigade, it can't be gray OR orange

I think he's talking about using TGT or Z-Temple on the offensive side while recurring RDJ and how it would be counterproductive.

I was saying that infinite recursions is an interesting thought process, but there is no real need for it because after you discard z-temple or TGT three times,  you should be good because they can only have 3 copies of a fort in their deck.  So while it is neat to be able to ininitely reccur this card, it will likely only need to be used a fwe times before it doesnt need to be used again.
