Title: Rain Becomes Dust Synergy
Post by: DrowningFish on July 12, 2014, 02:55:06 AM
What Decks work best with RBD in them? All of them? Or any deck with the new Damascus site in it?

RBD is great in just about any deck where you can afford the card slot and the artifact activation (that is, that you don't have a lot of other artifacts you would rather have up).  It is a great card to overcome your opponent's speed and is a DoN magnet.

It really shines in Hand Control, which is generally Gray but there are also PG versions (mostly T2).  Popular builds use Genesis/NT Gray to keep hand sizes and draws under control.

RBD
Damsel and/or Sabbath Breaker
Provisions

This is probably the easiest, most natural combo that can potentially kill a lot of cards quickly. Add a MC good enhancement to keep in hand for maximum damage.

RBD
Damsel and/or Sabbath Breaker
Provisions

Add some side battle or CTR cards and The Generous Widow to the list.  Force them to discard 2 from hand and top 2 of deck, while you cycle 2 from yours.

I agree, though that starts to specialize a bit more. Provisions should, in my opinion, be in any deck with three or more green heroes, which can happen fairly often. Damsel fits into a lot of decks as well. Thus, it's possible to have all three components of that combo without actually having to work for it, because in the right deck, they're already included. TGW is one of the best heroes in the game, but doesn't fit cleanly into most themes.

Sounds like an awesome idea for a T2 deck...  ::)

Hey now we know the only category that really matters is t2-multi and as the current title holder of the t2-only t2-multi champion I say it doesn't matter what any Alstad says even if I did lose to all 4 of them the next day in a 5 player t2-multi.

The important takeaway from this however, is that you were brave enough to face all 4 in a T2 MP game. I'm not sure anyone else has ever done that. I believe Wild Bill, Nathan and Pat Wester have taken on 3 Alstads in T2 MP at different times, but never 4...
