Title: Philistines
Post by: Minister Polarius on August 24, 2009, 05:02:47 PM
Some simple but highly effective Philistine combos:

Flee from Danger+Philistine Garrison. Have HHI ready in the wings for when they DoN.

Set either 12FG or PG aside with Habitation of Demons. Band one to Wandering Spirit, band that to any Demon that will band with a Human (I use Spirit of Temptation so that it can't be Interrupted), and band that to the other Philistine. You are now looking at a huge band against one Hero. There is no one card that will win your opponent the battle at this point. Only Reach+AoCP can kill all of your guys, and if you have Withering Disease up, not even that.

Black/Orange is unbelievably powerful. The only problem is that there is no protect fort, but you should be using Sites anyway and Colorguard will take care of either SS or AoCP (put it in Kir or Pergamum depending on what offense your opponent has).

Well Kir wouldn't do much good vs SS... considering SS kills and negates the site.

he is risen kills the big banding chain, and is a single card.

jordan interrupted/t-blast also kills it, much in the same vein as reach/aocp.

Fortunately, Black has Bringing Fear, Foolish Advice, and Devourer. Wasting Disease will stop Reach. The only way around it is Jordan Interrupted on Joshua the High Priest or a CBN band (and even then you still need to kill all the EC's).

jordan interrupted/holy unto the lord works too.

amariah works as well if wasting disease is not up.

also, i realized your banding chain only works if habitation is used on garrison; 12fg will kick everything else out after it.

Why? None of the banding can be Negated.

Actually, not all of it is. (Spirit of Temptation's ability is only CBI.) It's true that Garrison would have to be set aside.

right, because of spirit of temptation.

why even band? black and siters is amazing these days:
1: play land dispute on a random philistine in territory
2:discard mannasseh to use philistine outpost once and then attack with king amon getting back LD and next turn use it again
3:Pride of Simon
4:Danites attack
4 1/2:Joseph in Prison (only works sometimes)

in almost all my games I've used these four and half and won
