Title: Philistine recursion
Post by: Josh on June 03, 2010, 12:40:24 PM
Everyone who talks about the pros of a Phillie defense mentions "recursion" as one of them.  I can see how Philistine Outpost can recur an evil character from your discard pile, but it still has a cost of an evil card from your deck.  Is there some trick with Phillies that allows you to recur evil cards for basically no cost?  I really don't have a clue how they work  :)

You discard and evil character from your deck, to bring that same evil character into play.  Letting you pull any philistine you want, any time you are attacked, provided you use Philistine Armor Bearer.

The only way to no-cost recur an already-dead Philistine is to use either Philosophy or Torment, then get it back with ET/Providing Angel, then use The Bronze Laver to put it back in your deck.

I think a Philly defense will rank higher/more people will rank with a Philly defense, than with a Bab defense at nationals.
