okay. I have tried all sorts of things. I like teal, tgt, fight by the numbers banding, and purple(non royal) I am out of ideas. I need a good one. here is the main problem,
teal is fantastic. when you use interrupts on joshua the high preist, followed by a battle winner, it is fun! ;D Christian martyr will be horrrid. followed by don-ing a chariot.what i could do w/ teal is use lampstand w/z-temple and chariot and be protected from don.
that brings us to fight by the numbers banding. this stratagy is almost so powerful it is not even fair. one word strikes fear into banding chains: Philistines! now with this in mind, the way to stop philistines is by doing spreading mildew w/ high places. but then you need a yellow brigade evil character in order to play it. and if you are doing crimson and ornange like i am, garden tomb shuts me down. And if i just do yellow, well, with the exception of a few decks, yellow just flat out stinks.
then we have purple, i like purple and teal. i got 3rd at a state tourney with a deck like that! but now, my club is "going rouge"(as in the words of sarah palin) which means i have to pick on theam and stick with it. i don't like that. >:( duel theams are fantastic.
Lastly we have garden tomb, garden tomb is fun! yet now, with all the fortress destruction going on, i do not want to be fortress dependant. my defense is fine. i think it is very close being a "championship defense" i don't want to reveal the defense till states! (yay 8) this is me being cool with a defense that finally works!)
I would like some offensive help. any suggestions on "going rouge?"

You could try Brass Serpent or I Am Healing. Just a suggestion. I'm not too much into T1, so I don't know the important offensive archetypes right now.
-
I am healing just went into my deck. that means i am doing teal! Thank you!

Rogue is a easier in some ways, less worry about color mismatch, but combo colors are still fun. If I were you I would splash a touch of purple with your priest and a Melchizedek for some more two color tastiness. I am currently working on 2 dual color decks, but also have 2 rogue decks. Each one has there strength's and weakness's you just need to find out what works for you. Also don't feel compelled to do something just because the Meta Game in our club is shifting towards rogue. Just be yourself and have fun.

md meta shifting rogue hmm interesting

I still don't get how people win with just teal... 4 battle-winners?
-
Pretty much ZT banding helps a ton ;)
Battle winners
Zeal
Burning I
T blast
Holy unto the Lord
missing any?

Filling Zerubbabel's Temple

Once you get Z's Temple set up with Cov w/ Phinehas, Z's Temple characters are very hard to stop due to their high offensive numbers. Your only options are to shuffle, set them aside, discard the Cov w/Phinehas, or discard/disable Z's Temple. Even if you manage to do this Z's Temple can be recurred and Cov. w/ Phinehas can be protected with Lampstand.
-
Not only that, Phinehas and Scapegoat can essentially be a battle winner a good percentage of the time.
-
It's been rare that I've played Jehoiada's Strength and not won the battle.
-
Teal only needs 2 more things. A way to bring back battle winners, and a fight by the numbers character.

Yeah, and Brown needs an Archer and Horses. :P

Elishana can bring back back battlewinners.

as can Jehoram the Priest, and to a degree, so can Joidia.
-
Burning incense should be considered an offering, read Leviticus 16:11-14 and tell me otherwise. joida should be able to recur it.

Maybe if they hurt pre-block ignore enough that will happen.

if it was considered an offering, then it'd be old testament, and if it was old testament, then Eliashana could put it on Jehoram, and so on and so forth. T2 mainly. it'd be unlimited pre-block ignore. it'd be BAD.
-
but scriptually, it was considered an offering no matter how the NT priests were using it. when the Lord, God-Almighty gave commands to his people(Israel) he wanted them to OFFER burnt incense to him. no matter how powerful or devestating it may be, it should still be considered an offering. it is not to powerful. 1st of all, here are counters to burning incense if it was ever called and offering: (a) defense with more then 1 color.(b) Large tree "tep" version (c) Hezikiah's signet ring. (d) Place enhancements.
the ruling would certantly not be broken. i would be pleased if the rule was changed. I just stated 4 ways to stop the card if the ruling was set up. there are probably other ways to stop it also.
-
(a) defense with more then 1 color.
Which, assuming you use an offense that isn't as slow as a turtle leaves you open to TGT.
(b) Large tree "tep" version
One card in one brigade and since its NT the anti ignore LS, banks of the nile, etc. can't stop it. HAVEN'T THE POOR EGYPTIANS BEEN IGNORED ENOUGH?
(c) Hezikiah's signet ring.
While stopping the recur, I can still Altar of burnt + Altar of I for CBN goodness, paired with a TGT it'd just be another easy LS.
(d) Place enhancements.
Issue again is brigades and limited targets.
BTW: I argued this a long time ago(Pre ZT so priests weren't all FTWOMGBBQSauce), that it should be an offering. The official response was that "Offerings" refers to offerings burnt on the Altar of Burnt Offerings. I'd love to see it happen, but until Moses is a priest, I doubt it will.

I Disagree. I think that none of the counters that you mentioned are useful enough to stop a recurring pre-block ignore. With the mechanics of ignore being what they are I believe that we need to discourage pre-block ignore, not power it up. Z Temple needs NO help in being a viable strategy, they already have a way to be protected from almost anything, adding CBN( w/ Joshua) pre-block ignore would be foolishness in the extreme. Just my :2cents:

Well it seems youve never seen me play Flight then ::) It works every time 8)

I still think that in order for the card to be BIBLICALLY ACURATE it should be considered an offering. i don't see why it is so hard a ruling to make. i know it should be hard to stop but in the last TWO SETS, teal has been overlooked. while every other brigade has gotten boost after boost. teal needs one more upgrade. i think it is fair. christian martyr stops joida dead in his tracks. there has got to be a way to stop the joida recourance of burning incense, so that you guys will change the rule. now why can't moses be considered a priest?
-
and while Biblically accurate is true, since it's NT referenced, it doesn't have to be.
-
:o do you guys not understand the whole point? then fine! reprint burning incense! i already talked about the references when i said the following:
but scriptually, it was considered an offering no matter how the NT priests were using it. when the Lord, God-Almighty gave commands to his people(Israel) he wanted them to OFFER burnt incense to him.
-
Another thing to consider about the "Offering" label is that it is referring to those pertaining to Burnt Offerings. Those sacrificed on Altar of Burnt Offering (though Scapegoat is kind of an exception). If you want a nice, broad definition of offering, then you have to treat every NT human hero as an offering, right? :)
-
Brians last comment was wyn.
-
what are you talking about bryon? ;D :D :) ;) to be saying that burning incense is not an offering, you are arguing with scripture! ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;D
the nt priests were only burning the incense was because the LORD told them to make an OFFERING!!!
-
in redemption, offering=burnt offering. just like judge=period of Moses until the kings. if Burning Incense was an offering, so would all music related enhancements.
also, after reading your first note, I understand why you don't mind NJ. if you're playing with cards as boring as TGT and Z's Temple...
