Title: Name of the Lord
Post by: jtay on July 16, 2009, 09:28:19 PM
I don't know why I didn't think of this before.  Check it out.

You have The Name of the Lord in your set-aside area.
You block a rescue attempt and play a choose the rescuer card.
You choose one of your own heroes that has higher numbers than your evil character.
You then use The Name of the Lord's ability to remove your hero from battle.

VoilĂ .  Successful Block. :)

EDIT:  Forgot to post the ability.

The Name of the Lord
Set this fortress aside. If you have initiative, you may interrupt the battle and place your Hero on this fortress. Hero is protected from effect. Each time you rescue a Lost Soul, return one Hero to your territory. This fortress is protected from discard.

Actually, you don't even need to choose a higher numbered hero.  The Name of the Lord interrupts the battle. :)

Choosing a higher numbered hero doesn't give your opponent the ability to immediately negate your enhancement, though.  It's just safer is all.

I'm fairly sure that when your opponent is controlling said hero, it is no longer considered "yours".

I've asked this before; it doesn't work because once you choose your hero to fight yourself, it is no longer your hero since you aren't controlling it.

Despite the fact that two people have already said this, I just wanted to clarify.  I believe that in order for a hero to be "yours", it must meet two criteria: 1) the card must belong to you (be part of your deck), and 2) you must have control over it.
