Title: Job Overcomes combo
Post by: Unnamed on September 08, 2016, 11:28:09 AM
1. Does this work?
Canaan, discard to give opponent Foreign Wives and capture a hero in their territory, activate Hidden Treasures, attack with Joseph or Noah, play Tears for a Friend, then Job Overcomes to make opponent discard 7 evil cards from hand and you draw 1.

2. Does Canaan have to be used when it is played, or can it be used in later phases or turns?

1. I think that would work!

2. I'm pretty sure you can use it whenever.

Quote from: Job Overcomes
For each evil brigade your opponent has in play, that opponent must discard an evil card from hand or battle. You may draw a card.

We've ruled that the phrase "opponent has" implies that both ownership (it came from your deck) and control (which is met when you donate FW via Canaan) are needed. That means this combo doesn't work. Fortunately there are a number of people playing with their own FW these days.

Job Overcomes can be a game-winning card against the splash defenses being played these days.  If it was Purple, it would be in basically every Throne deck, but because it is Blue, it only sees play in Genesis offenses.
