1) Do the cards have any "rarity" within the set, or are they all disbursed in equal quantities?
2) Does a box of boosters have a specific mix of cards from the set, or might you get several duplicates?
3) With the theme being "Disciples", will there be cards from the Old Testament as well? Or are we only to expect more cards from the New Testament themes?
4) Will there be any new rules or card types, as there were for TxP?
Thanks for your help.
-
i can answer your second question but not the others it will have 4 Disciples, 4 mostly rare/ultra-rare Apostles, 4 mostly rare/ultra-rare Patriarchs, and 3 mostly common/rare Angel Wars. i hope this answers your question.

This is all my speculation.
1.) no
2.) Koala King answered that
3.) 120 card set, I highly doubt there will ONLY be NT cards.
4.) Rules, probably... type cards, Does a multi-color curse count?

2) Does a box of boosters have a specific mix of cards from the set, or might you get several duplicates
Has there even been an expansion that had duplicates in the same pack? :)
-
i would say yes that some are rarer than others. Hasn't that always bin the way it is?

He is talking about booster boxes, not packs, and is asking if there are booster box mpas, similar to patriarchs.
I doubt it.

Weren't TxP all distributed with the same rarity?

Yes.

Why would Grapes be distributed with the same rarity as Well Reopened??
-
Why would Abram/Abraham be distributed with the same rarity as Destruction of Nehustan?
-
Why would Grapes be distributed with the same rarity as Well Reopened??
Because Cactus was generous enough to do it that way. They could have theoretically made it much harder to open a copy of Grapes/Mayhem/etc by not including them in as many packs, but I think it was simply easier for them to print an even amount of each foil card and package them that way.

Rhetorical question ftw :)

They have equal rarity, but they are not distributed in equal quantities. (Or so I've been told)
2) Does a box of boosters have a specific mix of cards from the set, or might you get several duplicates?
Likely you'll get over 9000 duplicates.
3) With the theme being "Disciples", will there be cards from the Old Testament as well? Or are we only to expect more cards from the New Testament themes?
I can promise you there will be OT cards.
4) Will there be any new rules or card types, as there were for TxP?
Rules? Most definitely. Many new rules/clarifications when the new REG comes out (if it comes out), and there will probably be a rule put in place to stop the epic yet nearly useless combo Ring Wraith and I created also.

TxP was done with no rarity (or lopsided distribution as far as I know), and I remember hearing someone say that that Disciples was printed like TxP, but with two 60-card sheets instead of one, so I believe we should expect the same from Disciples.
2) Does a box of boosters have a specific mix of cards from the set, or might you get several duplicates?
Do you mean the mix of Disciples cards in each box, or the mix of all the cards from each set that will be in the box? If the latter, then Jayden already answered your question. But either way, I'm pretty you need not fear duplicates
3) With the theme being "Disciples", will there be cards from the Old Testament as well? Or are we only to expect more cards from the New Testament themes?
Did Apostles have any OT cards? I don't think it did, in which case I wouldn't expect any from this set either. Although with 115 cards, it'll be tough to have 0 OT cards. I guess we'll just have to see.
4) Will there be any new rules or card types, as there were for TxP?
I don't think I've heard anyone say anything about a new card type. I also don't know exactly what you mean by "new rules", but the new REG should be coming out pretty soon after nationals, and that will have quite a few ruling adjustments in it.
Thanks for your help.
You're welcome. :)

Tell him Don't Cry. It may take a while, but he'll listen to you. You just need to have Patience.

yeah, it's just too bad we didn't put it together for Regionals. only being able to use it at one tournament is sad.
I can tell you with confidence that the new REG will not be coming out this year.

And the new REG, coming out in never, .....

Art for the back of the card?

Can't be art for the back of the card, then they'd HAVE to be played in sleeves.
Maybe a new card design? Like the ones Gabe posted a while ago..... Although we've seen some cards, and they're normal.

because that won't trigger flamewars in booster draft....
-
Bilingual cards?
-
Thats a good idea. Those would be amazing for teams. We could be manipulative and get our opponent's DQ'd for not speaking in English :D.
-
Cards that include tiny fabric samples of Eric Largent's pants?

chase cards wouls be awesome.

I use Citibank. However, Box Toppers would be awesome.

Now we need an obligitory link to the borderless cards so that I can bookmark them and drool over them at my leisure....

If you buy an entire booster box of Disciples, what would you guess the probability of getting nearly one of every Disciple card would be?
-

Less than 25% based on the TEXP boxes I have opened/seen opened. Probably a lot lower.
-
so you're saying it takes 4 boxes to make a whole set?
-
so you're saying it takes 4 boxes to make a whole set?
Unless you get 2 nearly identical boxes... I think I'll buy one of every card and then maybe get a few boosters just for kicks...
-
so you're saying it takes 4 boxes to make a whole set?
No. I am saying the odds of a complete set of disciples in one box will be extremely low.
-
We get 4 Disciples cards per pack. There are 24 packs in a box. That gives us 96 Disciples cards per box. The set has 115 cards so it will take 29 packs or 1 box and 5 packs to make a complete set if you don't open any duplicates. I'll guess that it's going to take 2 boxes to complete a set.
-
thats pretty much the same odds as txp, and i was missing quite a few cards for a set from 2 boxes worth. i think 3 will make a whole set, most definately.

That's more like what I was aiming at... Has Rob, or whoever is in charge of packaging the booster boxes, shed any light on approximately how many duplicate packs will be in a booster box? I'd like to get one of each card from the set, but I enjoy opening booster packs.

Yes, there is much pleasure in opening booster pack. The joy of opening the packages, scanning through the cards, and the thrill of not knowing what you'd get! +1

Use and abuse heriod's dungian. My herods deck has some withdraw abilities (especially the one that kicks all male heroes out of battle) and uses the herod that captures all withdrawing heroes. Also, banding across brigades is very important (especially since my deck uses three brigades). A little trick to help against garden tomb is to put self in KOTW.
Of course, my deck is pre Di. I only got a little chance to improve my deck before my video card went wacko.
-
Herod's Dungeon captures almost all of the Disciples, which is huge since they're the most-used offense right now. My Lord and My God will interrupt and Discard it though, so be careful about using it when you don't have CP out.
-
Never mind about the herods thing.
i am making a sadducee/pharisee/heretic/judas/emporer/herod/heroless deck. ;)
any suggestions? :)

Yea, go check yourself out cause you might be a little bit crazy :p

Unless I'm missing something, My Lord and My God cannot discard HD because it isn't evil.
