Title: CoW Egyptians
Post by: jesse on May 16, 2016, 03:07:41 PM
Just looking over the new set, I'm struck by how strong the new Egyptian cards are- especially for T2. No Straw is basically a Scattered, Evicted is another CBN battlewinner against 2 or less heroes, and Egyptian Treasures is basically a Sowing Bountifully and battlewinner for defense in one. All 3 of these enhancements are just evil gold so you can run 4 of each in T2.

Is anyone else worried about facing an Egyptian defense in T2? An advice for going against them would be appreciated!

drowning pharaoh's army, off the top of my head, would be really strong unless they are protected.

Thanks! Taking out their characters before they get the chance to play those enhancements seems like a great strategy to me.  A problem though is that pharaohs throne room protects Egyptian evil characters in territory from discard.

It's an interesting thing to me – evil gold seems to have almost more interrupts and CBN  enhancements then any other evil brigade, and two different horses....it just seems that their characters are not as strong (thankfully!) - I would say this even applies to the new set, as well...the three enhancements are formidable, but the three new Egyptian evil characters aren't as much so.

Usually a theme will tend to be either character-heavy or enhancement-heavy in terms of power. In T1, the character-heavy ones rise to the top while in T2 it's a bit more even but the enhancement-heavy themes get WAY stronger because doubling up on characters doesn't do a ton for you, but having 4x the number of a given Enhancement is huge. The ones with both great characters and Enhancements are always the top Meta decks.
