Title: Another grapes question
Post by: Captain Falcon on October 04, 2009, 12:20:32 AM
Say you and your opponent are tied.  you attack w/a green prophet. opponent blocks with some ec that gives you initiative.  If you play sword of the lord and cause two of opponent's ec's to fight, can you play grapes on one of them to shuffle the other into owner's deck, or does that shuffle the hero in battle, too? And, if that works, since you were tied, can you make another rescue?I just wanted to make sure because if that works, then, WOW.

Grapes of Wrath:
Discard an evil card in battle to shuffle all remaining characters in battle into owners’ decks. If the current rescuer doesn't have the most Redeemed Souls, he may begin a new battle.

"In battle" refers to the current battle, so the hero wouldn't be shuffled.

During a side battle, I think there isn't a current rescuer, but I'm not sure.

LOL! I never thought about using grapes in a side battle. Nice one.

As Aggie said, in battle always applies to the current battle only. Also, when two EC's are fighting (which would be the current battle), obviously neither is the rescuer, so no one would get to RA again.

So yes or no:
1. if you grapes on of the ec's, does the other ec get shuffled (not the hero) and
2.  do you get to make another rescue attempt since you are tied?

if you are tied, nobody is losing so you wouldn't get to rescue again

1. Yes
2. No. There is no current rescuer in a side battle (since side battles are battle challenges) so no one gets another RA. If, however, you picked the EC defending you to be in the side battle and then played Grapes during said side battle, you'd basically definitely win the Lost Soul once it got back to your RA, unless they play a dominant.

if you are tied, nobody is losing so you wouldn't get to rescue again
While it may be true that nobody is losing, it also means nobody is winning, so if you are the current rescuer you DO get another RA, if Grapes is played in the main battle ;)

This is official, but I can't find the thread where that discussion took place.  :(
