Edit: Did anyone else think Brady as MVP was a bit of a stretch? Two interceptions is a lot, especially when Edelman was delivering consistently excellent play. I think I give it to him here.

I'd still go Peyton for the GOAT, but Brady's a reasonable pick.

Four rings to one. There are a number of options you can make an argument for, but Peyton really just isn't one of them.

Brady broke several all-time Super Bowl records, so that should solidify his legacy. I still think Butler should have been this year's SB MVP, though. He made several great stops on 3rd down during the game before the game-winning interception.

So Dilfer is better than Marino?  Ring should be very low on the list of things that determine if one player is better than another, because they are such a team effort.  If Peyton had been on the Patriots rather than Brady, I believe he would have gotten just as many rings.

No, championships do matter. Manning has consistently had more and better weapons than Brady has, yet Brady has consistently gone farther in the playoffs than Manning. Manning puts up technically better stats, but at the end of the day, it's Brady who's brought his team to more championships. I'm not saying that rings are the be-all end-all of the sport, but we're talking about four to one here.

Yeah we are talking about four to one here, I still maintain that Manning would have won just as many Superbowls with the Pats as Brady did.  Brady has had much better defenses with the Pats, and I think Bilichick is the GOAT coach, and that Manning/Belichick combo would have been just as good/better than the Brady/Bilichick combo.

I do want to make note, I don't think Chris' viewpoint is at all unreasonable, and I definitely think Brady is in the discussion for GOAT, I'm just saying I would take Manning over him.

If this superbowl solidified anyone as a GOAT, it's clear who'd that be.

Peyton is obviously the best QB in NFL history. I mean just look at that historic record he has in the post season for one and done ::). But seriously, other than the 2 picks, Brady carved up the LoB unlike Peyton Manning did a year ago. Besides, all of Brady's wins in the Super Bowl came with no name receivers. 2001-2004 he had Troy Brown, David Patten, and Deion Branch. I'm pretty sure Brady would have loved to play with Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison. Other than Gronk, even this year it's not like Brady had an amazing receiving corps, unlike .cough. .cough. Peyton Manning. And when it comes down to it, the goal of football is to win, and Tom Brady does it better than anyone else. TB12, GOAT.

Brady is more skilled, but the seahawks gave more skilled players.

Other than Gronk is a terrible qualifier. That's like saying the US had crappy weapons in WWII other than the A-bomb.

I kinda wanted Bellicheck to get the MVP award.

Brady shouldn't be mvp, he made a lot of mistakes that game.

2 picks against a historic defense? Seriously, he had a 74% completion, he set the record for completions in a SB, posted a 101 passer rating, and broke the record for career SB TD passes, all coming against the same defense that Peyton Manning looked hopeless against.

I think you mean "all coming against a really banged up version of a defense that Peyton Manning looked hopeless against."  Of course, Brady also had Bill Belichik while Manning had John Fox.

I'm not arguing that Brady isn't a worthwhile MVP (although I would have given it to Edelman if I got to decide), I am just saying it is difficult to compare two different teams across two different seasons.

I think that whoever made that decision to try and pass the ball in two the touchdown rather than have Marchon lynch blast it in was very bad. The Seahawks where so clooose :'(

Tom Brady was very impressive in this game.  After the Patriot's run game was stopped, Brady took the team to victory.

They did catch a big break with that interception.  I'm still in shock the Seahawks did not give Lynch the ball.  Of course, at the time of the intercession I was cheering too much to realize that I was in shock.   :)

Anyway, overall the game was very exciting and it definitely was better than last year's SB.

This was one of the best SB's ever!

"Hey Seahawks, you wanna win the Super Bowl?"

"Nah, I'll pass."
