Agreed, there was a lot more money to be made in Jacksonville.

If I'm Mark Sanchez I'm I'm not very happy right now.

If I'm the jets offensive coordinator however, I'm quite happy right now.  Having Tebow allows the offensive coordinator to run two QB packages which is a nightmare for defensive coordinators.  Since the Jet's offensive coordinator already likes to run the wildcat, Tebow is a good option for that particular offense.  Of course this is all in theory what's in the locker room will probably throw off the 'in theory part' that I just mentioned, and the Jets will slip back in to ineffectiveness.

The problem is going to come when Sanchez inevitably loses a game and we'll end up with the same thing that ran Orton out of Denver, especially in a place like NY where they are already pretty hostile to their own players. I'd be surprised if the Jets make it out of the preseason without hearing the Tebow chants.

You're probably right... But it'll be an interesting to see what ultimately happens.

The rumors flying out of the Jets locker room for the past year has been that Sanchez has a poor work ethic in practice, which ticks off other players. So bringing in Tebow is not going to ruin any team chemistry. However, this does appear to be an attempt to push Sanchez, especially since they just extended Sanchez' contract. They didn't give up much for Tebow, so he is the one who is expendable.

Jacksonville was definitely a better fit, and I am quite surprised that the Jaguars did not offer more than a 4th-round pick. Tebow's contract seems to have been the problem ($5 million clause for the Broncos, seriously?). I wonder if Tebow himself knew that his contract said that. Still, the revenue that Tebow's presence would have brought to a Florida team would have easily exceeded $5 million in his first year.

In the end, for that kind of clause money, there weren't many teams that could afford to pick Tebow up. All the other teams with that kind of money to spare already had franchise QBs.

I understand wanting to push him but bringing in the Circus that comes with Tim Tebow is not going to be good for a team that is already pretty divided. This also is going to make Drew Stanton very unhappy, when they signed him to be the new backup they promised that they were not looking to bring in another QB.

If things get squirrelly in NY, Goodell can just bring out his 'Suspend Hammer'.  ;)

Yep Stanton wants out.
Quote
The Daily News has learned that Stanton would prefer to be released or traded after the team acquired Tim Tebow on Wednesday. Stanton, who spent four seasons with the Lions, signed a one-year, $1.25 million deal that included a $500,000 signing bonus last week. He would also be amenable to a trade, according to a source.

This is also in shaky ground on the poor taste-o-meter

LOL at the New York Post having taste.  ;)    I preferred reading the New York Times.....

I don't disagree with you. This situation is not good for anybody. This will be very ugly in just a few months.
