Title: Zerrubabel?
Post by: Vasbear on January 24, 2009, 04:35:57 PM
If i make an RA with Zerrubabel and pull a card from my deck the is not white can i still add if to band if Zerrubabel is the only one in?

If not, am i mistaken or is there only one white EC with a reference from Nehamiah and Ezra?

Z can put any(-good-)thing in battle that is able to go into battle, including Heroes and enhancements of any brigade, and excluding ZT and JT.

Please remember to post abilities, especially on new cards.

Zerubbabel
Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: White • Ability: 12 / 8 • Class: None • Special Ability: Search deck for a good card with Nehemiah or Ezra reference and add it to hand or battle. • Identifiers: OT Male Human • Verse: Ezra 3:2 • Availability: Promotional cards (2008 District Tournament)

If you pull a hero, they can be added to battle (works like banding).
If you pull an enhancement:
   - If it is white, it can be added to battle ("played").
   - If somethng has happend to allow Zeruby to play that brigade enhancement, it can be added to battle ("played").
   - If it cannot be played because the brigade doesn't match, it can go to your hand, but it cannot be added to battle.

That answer it?

I'm pretty sure you're incorrect. Isn't Jacob able to play Three Angels with his SA?

I believe it can be added to battle, It automatically brigade mismatches and discards itself, but it can be played.

You can only play enhancements on a character (and gain the abilities of the enhancement, RR  :P  ) if the brigades match. The only exceptions are cards that give characters the ability to use any brigade (i.e. Coat of Many Colors), that give characters additional brigade colors (i.e. Training in Righteousness), or cards that say "regardless of brigade."

+1  You can't even play it if it is the wrong brigade.

You quoted the answer, then you quoted the question.  Is this Jepordy?  :)

I'm implying that I think the answer is wrong by repeating my question. I've seen and heard of people doing this combo before, and I'm pretty sure it's possible. Is there any REG support for either side? (I would check myself, but it isn't working for me for some reason.)

YMT is correct.  Jacob cannot play silver enhancements unless he's using another special ability to do it, such as coat of many colors.

If you banded Jacob into battle with an angel, then his SA would allow you to play a silver genesis enhancement on the angel.  One of my favorite Jacob combos is to band him into battle with Mahari (warriors), then play Joseph Before Pharoah to captured an opponent's EC and create a LS to rescue.

Note that BrianGabe says that a silver hero has to band to Jacob for this to work. Jacob CANNOT band to a silver hero AND play a Genesis enhancement. (just to make sure everybody's absolutely clear on that.)

Seraphim to Jake is what we're looking for here.

Well, you could look in the rulebook and read about brigades and whatnot, that should clear things up. Unless a SA says otherwise, you can't mismatch colors. Jacob's SA doesn't say anything about playing enhancements of other colors, so he can't use them.

No, Zerubbabel was not a musician. If he was, I'm sure he'd have that identifier printed on him. Just because he's in white doesn't make him a musician.

As a general rule of thumb, if anyone else on this board disagrees with you, what you thought was incorrect.

LOL

No, Zerubbabel is not a Priest. He was a leader when Cyrus told the Israelites to rebuild the Temple, but he was not a priest. Herod certainly wasn't a priest, but he built Herod's Temple. The name is for their direction and leadership in construction, not spiritual guidance. (Herod wasn't a good guy-he keeps your heroes from banding.)

I'd like to note that Solomon (of Solomon's Temple fame) wasn't a priest either.
