Promo Goliath and LS with withdraw hero ability

So I block with the Regional Promo Goliath and used it's special ability to "remove a hero in battle". Does the Lost Soul "If a Hero withdraws from a rescue attempt, place beneath deck." work?

Yes, Goliath's "return" ability is classified as a withdraw.
