Title: Winning Battle with Immunity and/or Protect

In a general sense, if your hero has immunity and/or protect from say the brigade your opponent is using to block with; you pretty much will win the battle by the numbers if your strength is greater than their toughness? No special abilities besides immunity and protect in this example.

Correct. If your Hero is immune or protected they will not be discarded in what would normally be a mutual destruction. If the Heroes strength is great than the Evil Character's toughness then you will win a Lost Soul (assuming one is available).
