Title: Windows of Narrow Light + Bethlehem + Salmon?
Post by: Sean on December 10, 2021, 10:04:49 PM
If I have 3 meek heroes, Windows of Narrow Light active and Bethlehem as a Site, does Bethlehem allow Salmon to band without sending the banded heroes back to territory?  I guess the question is, is Windows preventing or interrupting Salmon's ability?  If it is preventing then Bethlehem protects him and allows for FbtN banding.  If it is interrupting then the banded heroes go back to territory and you have a single hero FbtN.

Since windows is active first, it would act like a prevent, so salmon works

Hmm, that's interesting though because WoNL isn't negating until a meek Hero is in battle so if Salmon enters and bands to a meek Hero, then I would think that his ability would still be negated. A negate is an interrupt and then a prevent so I would think that it would interrupt and prevent as soon as the condition is met.

Yeah I think I depends on when a meek hero enters battle and when windows can trigger. If salmon enters before a meek hero, he should be negated by windows. If a meek hero enters battle first, windows triggers, and then later Salmon is banded in Bethlehem would allow him to work. And I'm not sure how this could happen off the top of my head, but if a meek hero enters battle, salmon is banded to but before windows trigger can take effect, then with windows triggering after he would be negated.

Jaylor and Schaef seem to have your solution.

I just want to confirm that WoNL defaults to "in play"?  And if so, are territory class and placed characters and enhancements with ongoing or triggered special abilities also negated until end of phase?  Furthermore, is there still the rule that instant special abilities that are activated prior to the current phase are de facto "cannot be negated"?

And one last question: if Salmon goes bad (converted), is he immediately discarded?

(I'm a dad after all...  ;) )
