Are Judas, Ananias, and Sapphira considered Heretics?
-
Heritics are those people mentioned in the bible as spreading a false gospel or heretical belief. Judas, Ananias and Sapphira were just disobedient.
-
Ok thanks.
-
Jezebel, Caiaphas and Diotrephes are possible candidates for being heretics.
-
The Jezebel currently in Redemption is O.T., not the one from Revelation, so she's not a candidate for the heretic label. Clearly if the N.T. Jezebel were printed she'd be a Heretic.
-
Not sure about capiaphas but I dont think being a high priest is equivalent to being a heritic. Diotrophes would probably be a heritic but I'd have to look into it. Also, he should be a Greek with a name like that. I think we should look into that.
Looking at 3 John 1:9 I cant say that he could be a heritic. I still think he should be labled a greek though.

Caiaphas led Israel astray on his heretical teachings, twisted the torah, and he killed Jesus.

Eh, Im not buying that. besides, for game purposes Heresy is false Christian teaching. YOu cant engage in Heresy unless you claim to be a christian and teach a false doctrine.

Christianity was not separate from Judaism until much, much later.
-
Yes but for the game, it is. and I am still not buying the fact that Caiaphas would be a heritic because I am not a jew so I dont know if he was spreading false doctrines or not. He may have been the most orthodox jew there was but since I am not a jew I dont know. Either way, we view Jesus and his teaching from a completed perspective and can differentiate from those who saw themselves as "in" christianity and those who were "out" of christianity.
-
Would claiming Jesus wasn't the divine son of God be considered heresy?
-
The question here would be whether Redemption recognizes the difference between Judaism and Christianity as early as 40 AD. If so, the evil High Priests would not be Heretics. If not, they should be.

and he killed Jesus.
I killed Jesus too.
-
and he killed Jesus.
I killed Jesus too.
+1'ed.
-
and he killed Jesus.
I killed Jesus too.
:amen:

I killed Jesus too.

I don't really consider Amen the proper response to someone saying that they killed God...
-
Well, I think that they were trying to say "Jesus died for...", a fact that I can appreciate. If not, I'm lost.
