If a site is not occupied and not in battle, is there a place they are supposed to go? REG says they go to territory, but many players I play put them in LoB unoccupied. Main reason I'm asking is that if my opponent plays DoU and shuffles all cards in LoB into deck, if they have a unoccupied site in LoB does it get shuffled?

Unoccupied sites are not in the land of bondage here's a diagram.

I'm sure that most people just leave occupied sites next to unoccupied sites for table space, but for the purpose of special abilities only sites that hold Lost Souls can be in the Land of Bondage.

Nobody uses the exact layout in there, and in fact if my opponent were putting all his forts into a vertical pile I'd request he make them all visible.

They go where the missing socks go that vanish from the dryer. I :o

I usually just stagger them so we can be reminded of their abilities throughout the game. I typically put them on the right side of my land of bondage but not in my land the bondage.
