Title: When exactly Dom Ini takes place during battle?

Hi again,

just checked Reg, the Dominant Chapter.

Question is: When takes Dom ini takes place per player when in battle?

Situation: Rescuing player attacks and blocker is presented. After resolving of abilities and no other cards are played defending player would have normal initiative. Can now rescuing player play a dominant like AotL before defender can present a maybe battle winning enhancement?
