Weird game ending. What happens next?

Yesterday I tried my first heroless deck against my nephew's new deck.  Because I was using sites and the Exchanger LS, I ended up with one of his Lost Souls in my site, and then he used Shuffler to shuffle mine back into my deck.  Long story short, because I didn't have "Hopper", he had rescued two of his with SOG/NJ, buried another, and one in one of my sites, leaving me only 3 of his lost souls to rescue with Paul.  I played Son of God on one of my own (because I did not have NJ in the deck either).  So the game "ended" with us decked out with him having 3 lost souls and unable to get through my defense and/or access my sites (so why even try), and me having rescued 4 lost souls but having no more to rescue.  Who wins in a situation like this?

On a side note I was pleased with how well Heroless did in its first trial.  My defense was mainly Philistines and sites.  My deck did not have Grapes, Falling Away, Harvest Time, New Jerusalem promo, but his did.  Obviously if I had used a couple of those cards the outcome would be different, but I don't put those cards in my casual decks.

Thanks for your help.

Something similar happened to me. my friend had no heroes, but my heroes di not have site access. so anyway, if it really is tied, you guys decked out, and no other lost souls can be rescued, then it is a draw. you both win and you both loose. so you play again and hope the same thing doesn't happen.

You get a timeout win.  This happens occasionally in tournaments, where neither opponent can rescue any more souls for one reason or another.  In a tournament you would get 2 points for the timeout win and your opponent would get 1 point for the timeout loss.

+1  Except in ROOT, where it counts as a win if you are ahead at the end.  In ROOT, you would still get 3 points for the win.
