Title: Wanderer Lost Soul Question
Post by: Kyp Henderson on August 11, 2009, 11:39:16 AM
I heard this from someone online.  If your opponent has no lost souls in play you can't give them the wanderer.  Is this really true? If so where does the wanderer go? Does it go into your land of Bondage?

The wanderer has to be exchanged for another LS.  If there is no other LS in your opponents LoB to exchange it with, then it remains in your LOB.

+1.  You can't exchange with nothing.

If you have the wanderer, you can't put it in their territory; that would be broken.  There is a certain lost soul that allows to put it in their territory, but you can't do the same thing with the wanderer.

If you draw the Hopper LS and your opponent doesn't have any souls in his LoB, it still goes in the LoB.

That wouldn't be broken. After all, the Hopper does the same exact thing, expect your opponent can't give it back to you (which they can do with the Wanderer).

But I also agree that you can't "exchange" a Lost Soul if your opponent has nothing to exchange it with.

The key difference is that the Hopper doesn't count toward your Lost Soul limit. If you could just give the wanderer away for nothing, that's one fewer LS to defend, possibly even making it impossible for the opponent to have enough souls to rescue.

Ah, I see now.

Isn't that what free is all about?  You give them something and you get nothing in return :P.

Or in this case, you give them a lost soul and they give you an interesting look :P.
