Title: Vengenace of Eternal Fire (Roj)
Post by: SEB on April 29, 2018, 07:04:08 AM
ORCID:
Banish an Evil Character, all evil cards in all discard piles,
a single brigade Site and an evil Fortress in play or a set aside area.

There are three target for this card, I would assume if you cannot actually target all three, you do not get to use the Special Ability?

You carry out as much as you can.

The only time that doesn’t apply is with cost/benefit abilities. Those are typically worded “do x to do y”. If you cannot pay “x” then you don’t carry out “y”.

Interesting, i assumed that wasnt the case, because other cards say "up to . . ." to allow for missing targets.

Normally you have to carry out as much as you can. A card that uses “up to” allows you to be more selective in the event that you would have to target your own cards (detrimentally) or if there’s a strategic reason not to target other players.
