Helmet of Salvation (Warriors):
Hero is immune to Confusion.
Does this do anything anymore?
Might of Angels (Warriors):
Discard all Evil Characters in play having a New Testament reference on card.
Is Josephus considered an NT reference? Frog Demons (Promo) and Saul (neither has a reference on the card) are not discarded by the Warriors version, correct?
Siege (both versions) is classified as depicting a weapon. It doesn't look like the Warriors version depicts a weapon. Is this a typo, or is it classified as such for simplicity (since the Kings version does depict a weapon)?
-
Helmet doesn't do anything. A hero cannot be immune to a search card.
-
--Unless it is given a Play As, all it does is temporarily increase the combined abilities of heroes in battle by 3/4. Since, as Cameron pointed out, immunity on your Hero won't protect your deck.
--Only cards that have a reference on the card from the New Testament would be discarded by MoA. S/P, and Frog Demons Promo would be unaffected. While the Emperors are NT because of the fact they lived after the birth of Christ, they also would not be discarded, since Josephus is not a book of the NT. I am 98% sure of this.
--It appears you are right about the Warriors Siege. I don't think it should be classified as depicting a weapon.
-
Might of Angels should get an errata/play as. Josephus, Nero, and others should be discarded with Might of Angels. Right now though, +1 with Prof Alstad.
-
I agree with Prof A on all points, but...why not just use The Book of Life instead of Might of Angels anyway? :P

I disagree that it needs a Play As, it does what the card says it does. That just means that its scope is not as broad as the Kings version of MoA, which says "Discard all NT EC's in play." Cactus already fixed the "problem" by making a new card; I think it's easier to just do what the card says in this case.

Because you're using Saul, Nero, etc. and don't want to wipe out your own defense?

excactly!

The Helmet of Salvation question interests me, because I thought it was errataed "back in the day" to protect the owner from Confusion. But that's quite a while back.
-
Yeah, that was back in the "let's have the cards do what they were intended to do" stage of the game. Then we moved to the "let's have the cards do what they say, even if it means a bunch of old cards become crap" stage. Now we're in the "let's take one word and twist it up like a pretzel in order to either break the game or get a rule changed in our favor" stage.

:rollin: so true. this is the post of the week. lol

So when you say pretzel, do you mean an actual pretzel, or a pretzel that's just called a pretzel but is actually a metaphor seen in a vision?
;D

Not to disagree with my fellow Prof, but I think the key to understanding Schaef's post is the word "stage". We must determine whether he is talking about the large, elevated platform at the front of an auditorium, or the 4-wheeled, wooden mode of transportation commonly found in the Wild West.
-
but I think the key to understanding Schaef's post is the word "stage".
WHAT?!? We're changing phases to stages??
;)
-
They're pronounced "stah-zhay". The final 's' is silent.

Hey,
yes, but is is used as a verb or is it used as the Direct Objet of the sentance? because the targets are different if it is used as a verb than if it is used as a Direct object.
Tschow,

Haha, got a good laugh out of that one. Everyone knows the real difference hinges on whether there's an indirect article before the target or not.
-
In order to distance myself from the post above, I want to point out that I was having a poke at a general attitude, and not singling out any one person. It is a wide and spreading pandemic.

And I want to further clarify that I mean this all in fun and do not in any way wish to offend Tim and I apologize if I do so in any way.

It is a wide and spreading pandemic.
Then I am very ill. I'm in all stages at once. ;)
-
Its just like Scott at this STAGE of his life to still be in on so many converstations. This obvious and sad PHASE of his life needs to be fixed.
On a some what but not really serious note I have to agree with Shaef with the different "stages" that redemption has gone through. Hopefully soon there will be the "I'm right because I say I am" stage. That would make my decks alot stronger. ;D ;)
-
How about a "You're right when I say you're right" stage 8) ;)
-
It is a wide and spreading pandemic.
But as we've learned from another thread recently, the word "pandemic" is thrown around far too often :)
-
But what do you mean by "pandemic"? Maybe it's just a sound booth command ("pan de mic"). I think we need a ruling on this.
