He's not listed as generic in the REG, but the verse on the card makes me think he should be.

You're right, there was another thread (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/index.php?topic=14751.msg230370#msg230370).

That thread doesn't exactly hold an answer. No one seems to know what he is.

The thread stopped after Bryon said he ruled in Generic.

The thread stopped after Bryon said he ruled in Generic.

He just said that's how he has ruled it in the past.

well depending on what a armour bearer does is ther a bunch? or is ther one? i would say it is generic.

He's unqiue IMO. Besides the fact him being generic will soon break T2, he is the specific armobearer for Goliath.

Personally, I'm kind of torn on this. The card may be based on a specific person, but "Philistine Armorbearer" is a title, and surely there were many Philistine armorbearers. However, I haven't checked the Scripture reference but I'm guessing the card is called "Philistine Armorbearer" because his name wasn't actually given in the verse.

If the verse is referencing Goliath's specific armorbearer, the card should be Unique as Widow is unique because the verse references a specific widow.

That's not gonna break T2... I'm more concerned about High Places...  :P

I don't know if there are official qualifications for unique characters, but since armorbearer is a title rather than a name I am inclined to call him generic, regardless of what the verse refers to. (If his name was "The Armorbearer" that would be different.) However, if Widow was ruled to be unique then my contribution is worth crap. :P

When Widow was brought up before, Rob decided she should be unique.

Well then I suppose Armorbearer should follow the pattern, even though I disagree. :-\
