Title: Toughness reset after battle?
Post by: king david on October 15, 2017, 07:59:22 PM
I'm a returning player from the 90s and can't remember...

If a character survives a battle and returns to another battle on another turn does the character's toughness reset or stay the same from the previous battle?

Example: David ends the battle with 3 toughness. Returns to own territory. Next turn does David go into battle with 3 toughness or reset to 8 toughness on the card?

Welcome back!

I don't think there's a David with 8 toughness.

To the actual question, winning or losing a battle doesn't change the strength (*/) or toughness (/*) of a card, barring a rule or ability to that effect.  Targeting a character with an increase, decrease, or toss ability will change their strength and toughness, and playing under the Experience Credit rule (mandatory for T2, optional for T1) increases characters 1/1 on a successful block (Evil Characters) or successful rescue (Heroes).
