Title: The Darkness Fortress questions.
Post by: redemption collector 777 on June 04, 2015, 11:33:16 AM
The Darkness SA: Place an Evil Character from hand face down here. If an opponent begins a rescue attempt and chooses a blocker (or is unblocked), you may reveal this evil character. Blocking player may add it to the battle. Otherwise return it face down.

1. The moment a player places this fortress down on their territory , do they have to place an EC from hand right away on it or can they place an EC on it anytime they want?

2. Does the SA allow you to add the EC on it to battle anytime you want , even before battle resolution begins? (similar to Madness , Gates . Unknown nation)

3. What does the "chooses a blocker" part mean? does it mean you can add the EC from the fortress instead of a ctb hero picking a certain EC to block??

1. I'm not sure about this part.

2. The trigger is "if an opponent begins a rescue attempt" so you can only reveal/add the evil character at that time.

3. It simply means that, for example, if Ehud begins a rescue attempt and chooses the blocker you can still trigger The Darkness to reveal and possibly add the evil character to battle. It doesn't replace the chosen evil character, it just joins that character in battle.

1. I've always assumed it was during prep phase.

2. As above

3. It doesn't say instead, so both ECs would be in battle.

2 and 3 are correct above.

Pretty sure that 1 is ruled as having an ability that describes how to put cards in and take them out (as many fortresses do).
