I have to ask, what on earth made the playtesters think Thaddeus would be a good Idea?

This has been discussed many times and there's really no point in bringing it up again.

The short answer is that late in the playtesting process, Thaddeus was determined to be on the weak side. Unfortunately there was some overcompensation and he ended up being one of the most powerful Heroes in the game--though to be fair, he's only powerful within the disciples theme. Rest assured there will be future cards that will help keep him in check (aside from the ones that already exist).

I don't find him to be that powerful, until lategame.  He's practically useless when I get him off the draw.

so for all the people who do make cards and read this post can we get some new mass removal cards for evil to counter Thadd instead of something that specifically targets him?

Don't worry, we're going to terrify Thad with some new counters this set.

Counters like, say, King of Tyrus?

Oh yes, Purple characters are absolutely terrified of FbtN EC's...

and i would like to see cards that stop other cards in a general way like wrath of satan not specifically like:

Burst of Light (AW)
Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Silver • Ability: 2 / 1 • Class: None • Special Ability: Shuffle one "The Darkness" fortress and its contents into owner's draw pile. • Play As: Shuffle [return] one "The Darkness" fortress and its contents into owner's deck. • Identifiers: None • Verse: Acts 12:7 • Availability: Angel Wars booster packs (Rare)

What if this card was more general like any evil fortress in play or set aside? Burst of Light Gates anyone?

umm Thomas, AoC(p), CBN banding, disciplesx10 plus CoT, and my favorite:

Passover Hymn (Di)
Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Purple/White • Ability: X / 4 • Class: Territory • Special Ability: Negate and discard up to X Curses or evil Enhancements in play. Negate immune abilities on evil cards this turn. • Identifiers: NT, Involves Music • Verse: Matthew 26:30 • Availability: Disciples booster packs ()

x= #of disciples in play

so what am i missing here?

I don't own a CoT, so that's an issue.

I was playing against a CBNB demon deck, and passover Hymn was used territory to kill of CoM.  I misused AoCP (should've waited).

WS->SoT->Gomer->KoT (toughness beats even the strength of Phil/Bart).

Crown of Thorns.  Decreases all (of opponents?) EC's by 0/3

I've seen this defense alot lately, so how do we beat it?

For Thad, I would like to see some multipurpose cards that can prevent hero abilities rather than tons of mass removal.  Or maybe some evil cards that trigger after Thad's protection is gone.  Or some cards that boost evil characters toughness that people actually want to use.

I love using the banding defense but there are plenty of ways to beat it:  territory destruction, massive hero banding, all the CBN like teal has, etc.

We need a card that negates Protect both ways.  Wouldn't that stop thad and all the protect running around?

If it prevents it before battle because his SA is CBI.

The only really good way is Pre-Block AoCP since demons have no territory protection.
