Title: Tartaros & banding or side battle?
Post by: Jeremystair on August 28, 2017, 08:50:08 AM
If I have Tartaros up and my opponent bands to one of my demons or creates a side battle with my demon and the demon dies does he go to my Tartaros?

The reason I ask is because it says Your. And I'm not sure if my opponent gains temporary control does Tartaros activate still?

Your opponent only has temporary, not permanent, control of your demon when he bands to it. When your demon dies it would return to your discard pile. So in this case it would go to your Tartaros even if your opponent is temporarily controlling it.

I thought it could work like this but the reason I ask is because if the demon never becomes my control again it just gets discarded then Tartaros does not get a chance to activate because the demon is already in the discard pile.

No, when the demon is discarded it is not under your control therefore it is not "your" demon.

This makes more sense to me but I wasn't sure that's why I asked. Thanks
