Title: Spirit of Temptation
Post by: BubbleBoy on August 04, 2009, 03:27:05 PM
58.   CARD NAME:  Spirit of Temptation [new]
CARD TYPE: evil character
CLASS:
IDENTIFIERS: Generic, Demon
STATS: 0/4
BRIGADE COLOR:  orange
SPECIAL ABILITY: May place a card from hand beneath deck.  Opponent must do the same.  May band to a human Evil Character.  Cannot be interrupted.
SCRIPTURE:  Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.  The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.  Matthew 26:41

The ability isn't worded as a cost/gain; it sounds to me like you don't have to place a card beneath your deck to make your opponent do so. Am I right?

It looks to me like if you don't place a card from hand beneath deck opponent must do the same (not placing a card beneath deck). I don't see how they could do something you didn't.

To me it seems like, "You may do X, and your opponent must do X" (where X = placing a card beneath deck).

Yeah. The wording indicates your opponent only has to place a card beneath their deck if you place one beneath yours.

In that case, why wouldn't it just say, "May place a card from hand beneath deck to make opponent do the same"?
