Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Yellow • Ability: 1 / 4 • Class: None • Special Ability: You may place a good Enhancement from hand on a human Evil Character. After battle, discard that Enhancement to convert that character to a Hero. • Identifiers: Generic NT Male Human, Evangelist • Verse: Luke 8:5-8

When he converts the EC, what color does it convert to?

Thanks.  I'm a little surprised that this isn't a unique "THE sower", as he is called in every reference.

Probably because he's not a real person (like Widow, who used to be Generic until we pointed out the verse).

I think the rule is it becomes the color of the enhancement.

The default (unless it's changed in DNF) is that converts make the converted card their own Brigade. That would mean Sower converts to Gold regardless of the Enhancement's color (unless you Gold Shield him to a different Brigade, in which case you can run around Converting people to any Brigade).

So Sower can place any brigade good enhancement or does it have to be a gold brigade?

It seems to me that he could place any brigade enhancement, but it still converts the EC to good gold.

Also, why does the REG still use Yellow? I thought that was ruled to be "good gold"....

It is. Officially, there is no Yellow Brigade. But it makes searching tricky, so it's labeled "yellow" in searchable documents.

Why does it automatically convert to gold? There is nothing that says that. Just wondering....

Because the card with the convert ability (Sower) is gold brigade.  If the brigade is not specified, then the default is to convert to the brigade on the card with the convert ability.

On an earlier draft of Sower, he converted to a brigade on the enhancement.  That was removed to save space.  So, it converts to the brigade of Sower.

"a" brigade on the enhancement, not "all" brigades.  Good try, though.  :)
