The wording on the cards is fine. It's the wording of the definition of instead that needed to be more exact, and now it is.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

The wording of the definition has not changed.  Only a re-stating of a sample ability has been provided in order to illustrate the technical underbelly of the existing definition.

I like how you guys are on the same page now yet you've managed to still find something to argue about. ::)

Not really.  Before this thread, there were multiple definitions of "instead" running around, and the Elder definition was a Honey Badger, not caring about any of the traditional rulings.  Now we've got some clarification.

No no, I meant that Pol assented to the definition put forth by Schaef at the bottom of the last page, yet the 4 or 5 posts since then they're still arguing because Pol thinks something has changed and Schaef thinks the "status is quo."

Quite simply, I did not distribute any official ruling changing any definitions in the game, and I feel it's important to make that distinction plain for the day when someone decides they want to say "the definition of instead has changed, go look here for Schaef's statement saying so".  I am disclaiming any change from what is written, especially in light of the fact that there has been no consultation with any of the other Elders on any supposed change.

It's not a matter of change, simply of clarification. Schaef was clarifying the ability in a way that pacified the masses, much better than I apparently did in this thread or the previous one. For that I am grateful.

And I've never said anything had changed. I'm trying to thank Schaef for putting the rules in "Redemption Legal" terms, and he's having none of it!

Oh, I know, I just find it ironic that even after you guys agree and everybody should be happy, the medium of text-based conversation on the internet just doesn't want to let it rest completely. :P

It's the wording of the definition of instead that needed to be more exact, and now it is.

The wording of the definition is the same as it was yesterday, and for my part, will be the same tomorrow.  That is the only point I am trying to make, and my specific, practical reasons for this are outlined above.
