can u have 2 site doublers in one site
-
Yes, if they are the only 2 LS in that site. Both copies have a play as: "This Lost Soul may be placed in a Site currently occupied by one Lost Soul."
-
*EDIT* Ooops... :P :-[
-
Directly from the REG:
Psalms 1:4 (‘Site Doubler’)
Type: Lost Soul • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: (woman watching city burn) This Lost Soul may be held captive in a Site currently occupied by another Lost Soul. • Play As: This Lost Soul may be placed in a Site currently occupied by one Lost Soul.
A "play as" is the way to play the card, regardless of what it originally said. Aggie is right.

srry kirk try again ;)
-
Okay, so then does this work:
BBH is up w/only one Babylon out on the table. BBH is holding 2 LS (due to Babylon). Can the site doubler be placed in BBH?
I could see it either way, even with the "Play As" the way it is. Thanks for the clarification!
-
I know this question came out before. I'm pretty sure it was ruled that would could. However, if 1 more Babylon comes out (total of 2), you can't add a 3rd. I'll edit if I find the post.
-
Okay. Thanks for the clarification! :)

Hold on, that was in no way a ruling or something close to it. I really have no idea; I see it both ways too. I would wait for some other input.
-
Based on the Play As (ONE Lost Soul), you can't place the site doubler in a BBH already occupied by 2 LS. I'm not 100% sure you can put a site doubler in a BBH that can only hold 1 LS - the limit on BBH may stop you from adding the second one without another Babylonian site in play.
-
Well, there's also a sort of "implied limit" on every other site that allows you to put only one lost soul in that site, but the doubler breaks that, so...I don't know....
-
Implied limits are not the same as Special Abilities, which generally supercede game rules if targeted correctly. I agree with the conclusion that BBH's SA limits the total that it can hold, and the Doubler's "play as" limits it even more.
-
So the doubler could only be played on a BBH if there is only 1 LS there and BBH can hold 2 LS (thereby wasting the doubler's SA)?
-
Hey,
I don't like the play as this card has. It's not very clear and I'm not sure it means the same thing as the original ability.
I'm pretty sure that when Babylonian Banquet Hall first came out and this question came up the ruling was that the site doubler allowed there to be X+1 lost souls (where X is the number of lost souls that BBH can hold by it's special ability) in BBH as long as the site doubler was the last one added to it.

Well, this is how I've been playing it as, and I would agree with you that this way makes more sense.

Until the "Play as" is changed, however, hosts must rule according to the REG.

I can not comment on "first" impressions of this situation, but my latest recollection was that BBH is dynamic, therefore it reevaluates itself. If it counts more LSs than it is allowed, then someone gets kicked out.

As of October of last year BBH was not dynamic and lost souls never got kicked out of it. If that was changed in the last six months I totally missed it.

Tim, I think the thread you're looking for is here. (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/index.php?topic=12910.0)
Although your logic as the end of the thread is sound, it has not yet been made a rule. BBH is still dynamic according to Bryon's ruling.
-
Hey,
That thread makes me sad, because I now know that the REG update will not be released before nationals :(
I still think (and would rule at any tournament I'm judging) that BBH is not dynamic.

FYI - Lions Den is not a Babylonian Site for purposes of BBH!
I cannot count the number of games I've had in the past two weeks with people thinking Lions Den is Babylonian!
