1. I play Sword against Sword
2. I choose Lot's Wife to fight there evil character
3. Can I band to the evil character that I'm fighting, thus taking him out of battle and winning the side battle?
-
Band abilities have never been able to target characters already in battle, so no you couldn't do that.

Couldn't find that in the REG, did I miss something?

What REG am I reading...?
Banding is a special ability (http://redemptionreg.com/REG/Master/gloss_specialability.htm) given to characters (http://redemptionreg.com/REG/Master/gloss_characters1.htm). Banding allows two or more characters to join together. When two or more characters are banded (http://redemptionreg.com/REG/Master/gloss_banded.htm) together, they are regarded as a combined force instrength (http://redemptionreg.com/REG/Master/gloss_strength.htm) and toughness (http://redemptionreg.com/REG/Master/gloss_toughness.htm). Banding cards are played during battle (http://redemptionreg.com/REG/Master/gloss_battle.htm). The banding special ability (http://redemptionreg.com/REG/Master/gloss_ability.htm) can be either on a character or on anenhancement (http://redemptionreg.com/REG/Master/gloss_enhancement.htm). The banding card does not hold the second character (http://redemptionreg.com/REG/Master/gloss_character.htm)in battle; it is simply what allows the second character to join the battle.

If it helps, the sections I quoted above were found at this navigational path: REG -> Instant Abilities -> Band -> General Description/Default Conditions.
-
That's weird. I usually just go to definitions.
-
Definitions is okay for general stuff, but specific questions like this are usually better answered by the little bit more in-depth information in the other sections.

You cannot join the battle when you are already there.
