if i play a sidebattle card against my opponents character in battle, do they get a chance to negate it since they are being forced to leave from the first battle?
-
Hey,
Not immediately, no. They go to the side battle, it's possible you could negate it in the side battle. When the side battle ends if the character wins it would go back to the main battle and if it has initiative it could negate it then. If the character from the original battle loses the side battle it would then have initiative in the main battle but only initiative to play a negate or interrupt.

if you negate a side battle card during the side battle, what happens to all the enhancements played during the side battle? Do they get discarded, returned to hand?
-
discarded
-
but the character is being forced out of battle due to a special
abilty- wouldn't this be just cause for negate?
-
But if the battle is negated it never happened, so the enhancements were never played....

Generally speaking they would go back to hand. Negating the side battle "undoes" it so cards go back to where they came from.

If the character wins the side battle it would be returned to the main battle, so it's not really being forced out it's just being borrowed, at least until the side battle ends and we find out the ultimate effect the side battle has on the character from the original battle.

ive never heard of just borrowed in this game.
do you guys see where im coming from when i say im being forced out of battle due to a special ability?
im looking for a technical answer and id look it up myself but i have no access to the REG at the moment.

He's not being forced out of battle, as he's still in the field of battle, he's simply changing his focus in battle. If a warrior was in battle against a giant, and a different guy runs up to him, the warrior may fight the new guy while the giant is regrouping or resting or something. Once the new guy is dealt with, the warrior is either dead or able to go back to fighting the giant, who has been watching and waiting, as he is a fair fighter that wouldn't want to unfairly double-team the guy.
