Title: Selfish Kingsman
Post by: Jeremystair on December 28, 2016, 10:20:47 AM
I have two questions first question how is selfish Kingsman played?
Second question is does his negate enhancements work on Bibles and skulls. And then do we just play the numbers?

Yes, he interrupts all enhancements currently in play and then prevents all enhancements played for the duration of the battle. It is a numbers battle unless you have some enhancements that are cannot be prevented or cannot be negated.

SK interrupts and prevents ALL special abilities on enhancements that are played during battle, including good enhs (bible icons) and evil enhs (skull icons), and as a result the battle is determined by the numbers. However, if a good or evil enh is played that has a modifier of "Cannot be Negated" or "Cannot be Prevented" in the special ability then SK's ability does not negate/prevent those enhs. SK's ability can also be negated/prevented, causing it not to work. For example, if you rescue with Ruth or John (their ability negates evil characters) then SKs ability is now prevented and does not work in that battle.

So if I'm using Delilah to block a rescue attempt and someone plays a card that captures Delilah can I use her special ability to band in SK and then it negates the capture ability?

So if I'm using Lot's wife to block a rescue attempt and someone plays a card that captures Lot's wife can I use her special ability to band in SK and then it negates the capture ability?

Character abilities activate as soon as that character enters battle. If you are using Lots Wife band ability, you have to do it at the start and can't wait and do it any time you want.

Banding is an "instant" ability and that means you do it the second she enters battle or you lose the opportunity to be able to do it in the future.

Ishbibenob's spear when it says you may discard this card to undertake a hero does that mean I have to do it immediately when he enters the battle?

It is placed on saph as a warrior class enhancement.

Yes, abilities on enhancements played in battle must be used when they are activated unless the ability says something like "At any time you may..."

Weapon class enhancements can be placed on warrior class characters of matching brigade. The enhancement's ability activates when it enters battle. So if it was placed on a character in territory it would activate when the character enters battle if it was played from hand it would activate then and could be held by a warrior class character after battle as long as both the character and enhancement remain after battle. Ishbibenob's spear does include a may clause so you don't have to discard it if it is placed but you only get 1 opportunity to use its effect in battle and that is when it first enters battle. Otherwise it just adds numbers to your side.

So when ishbibenob's spear is played on top of an evil character to complete the shield is it still considered a enhancement or is it now a special ability of the evil character one that cannot be negated?

Don't overcomplicate it. An enh is an enh, and a character is a character. And the special abilities on each are either an enh with a special ability or a character with a special ability.

It is still a weapon, an enhancement, and the ability is an enhancement ability and is just as negatable or not as any other enhancement would be.

Yes, Transfiguration works in that situation. Kinsman does not negate enhancements that cannot be prevented or cannot be negated.
