Should Seven Sons of Sceva be ruled a heretic? They falsely used the messiah's name, so much so that they got beat big time by a demon. Also, since they were the sons of a High Priest, then theoretically they should also be Sadducees.
Here's their story. All 7 verses of it. (http://classic.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts%2019:11-17&version=ESV)
Edit: stupid keyboard -slams V key 'til it actually makes a letter appear-

There is no indication that they claimed faith (one of the Redemption requirements for Heretics), only that they went around exorcising using Jesus' and Paul's name.
Sadducee was an office as well as a political/spiritual viewpoint. Being the son of the High Priest would no more make you a Sadducee than being the son of a flasher makes you a Senator.

Don't be a "Weiner" Pol :o

Sadduccee wasn't an office, but a sect of Judaism at the time (much like today's christian denominations). Sadduccees just typically consisted of the what we would call upper-class families and the High Priests. High Priest was an office, sadducee was not.
I suppose you can't definitively say whether or not they proclaimed faith, though they did certainly falsely represent the teachings of Paul.

They were more using the name of Jesus Christ for their selfish needs instead of preaching.
