I have been told the cards that grant CBN status Cannot be negated but I want some clarification on these abilities. Specificaly the thankful leper and cards like him:
The Thankful Leper
Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Yellow • Ability: 1 / 10 • Class: None • Special Ability: Search opponent's discard pile for all Lost Soul and put into his territory. Abilities on good gold brigade cards cannot be negated if opponent has less than ten cards in deck. • Attributes: Samaritan • Identifiers: NT Male Human, Samaria • Verse: Luke 17:15-16
My question is this. I know that, as long as the conditions are met, that gold enhancements played on this character cannot be negated. What I want to know is this: can they be prevented?
Once an enhancement it played, I cannot negate his SA because that would cause a cascade of negates, but the cards were originally played in a state where they could not be negated. But what about before an enhancement is played? The card does not say that his SA cannot be negated just that enhancements played on him cannot be negated.
So if I block with KoT, does that prevent him from playing CBN enhancements? or does his SA work regardless as long as the conditions are met? (i.e. I as the blocker, have less than 10 cards in my deck)
I am assuming that, as long as the conditions are met, that his SA cannot be negated/prevented/interupted etc. But I was just wondering.

Cards that grant a cannot be negated ability also cannot be negated themself. In this case KoT would not stop the ability of The Thankful Leper if the condition was being met.
*edit*
Here's a REG quote to support this in case you wanted documention.
Cards such as Michael and Ananias that read ‘cannot be interrupted, prevented or negated’ cannot be interrupted, prevented and negated by ANYTHING, even by cards that read, ‘ALL special abilities are interrupted, prevented, and negated.’
Cards that “cannot be negated” can never be interrupted, prevented, or negated. For example, Michael cannot be interrupted by Holy of Holies or King of Tyrus.

Thats what I figgured. but I just wanted to be clear

Just an oddball question...I know you can't just randomly search your deck, or even look through your discard pile without a reason...Can you count the cards in an opponents deck to see if they have 10 left or not?

I believe that the number of cards in piles are known. At least they are in RTS. It would make this card impossible to use otherwise.

In real life play you would just ask your opponent to leaf through his deck without looking at them to determine the number.
