If I play Son of God and New Jersualem at the beginning of my turn, can I still make a RA?

Yup. They don't count towards your one rescue attempt that turn.

More specifically, Rescue Attempts are only made by heroes. So, until you place a hero into the Field of Battle, you have not yet made a Rescue Attempt.
