If I make a rescue attempt and choose whatever soul to rescue, then my opponent buries the soul, and doesn't block, it was a failed rescue but successful battle challenge correct?

Good thats what I thought but wanted to double check before natz so I don't get owned because I don't know the ins and outs of the every possible situation that could come up.

Precisely, I don't like losing when I don't know how or why it happened, but If I know the ruling behind the ownage I can congratulate the opponent on their ingenuity
