Title: Quick question about certain cards outburst of anger , death of Firstborn
Post by: redemption collector 777 on August 12, 2017, 01:25:41 PM
Just wondering which of the following 3 cards in the list does or does not cause special initiative to the opposing character when played in battle??

1. Outburst of Anger: SA

Hero is returned to owner's hand. A new Hero must be placed in battle or rescue attempt fails.

2. Death of Firstborn: SA

Immunity on all characters is negated. Blocking Evil character refuses to block. Opponent must present a new blocker or rescue attempt is successful.

3. Lion Dwelling with the Calf: SA

Blocking Evil Character refuses to block. Opponent must present a new blocker or rescue is successful.

Since it's 2 separate, although paired abilities in withdraw and present, you should get SI between them, if the withdraw leaves you with no characters in battle.

+1

Also, keep in mind that if there are still characters in battle after one of these is played, the present ability does not trigger.

So the same SI rule applies to Medium in Endor's ability, correct?

No, and not to choose opponent either.  Both of those require a target to bring into battle, which does not leave you without a hero in battle to trigger SI.

It's the difference between 1 ability replacing the hero, and an ability withdrawing and another replacing.
