Elymas (Bar-Jesus) the Sorcerer's SA reads: "Holder must discard a demon from holder's territory and may discard one Hero from each opponent's territory."
Question: If you do not have a demon in your territory to discard what happens? Do you still get to discard one hero from each opponent's territory?
-
no because you cannot fulfill the SA its like if you deck and try to use Jepthaths SA it just doesn't work
-
Elymas has a Play As in the REG:
Play As: Holder must discard a demon from holder's territory. If a demon if discarded, holder may discard one Hero from each opponent's territory.
-
I probably should have checked the REG first, but that make since. If Elymas had not received an errata it would have been way too overpowering. So much for that idea.

I think the way it's worded, you could get away with it, hence the "play as". EBJ doesn't have a specific cost-benefit ability, just a "do this, and you may do this too if you want" kind of thing. The "Play As" makes it crystal clear though. Jephtah's SA makes it clear you have to discard a card if you want to use the rest of the SA, not so in EBJ's case, IMO.
