Title: Que Question
Post by: 3-Liner And Bags Of Chips on April 02, 2011, 03:31:29 PM
Can Que make only enhancements with "Mist" in the title or can it be "...mist..." as in "Mist"akes made and so forth?

Only "Mist"

If this was any other card game, I'd say Que CBNs any enhancement with the string "mist" in the title, but since this is Redemption I assume it's just cards with the word "Mist".

It doesn't say contain the word mist either. So I don't see why the string of letters would work on him too...

Hmm...  Does it say there can't be letters in between the M-i-s-t?

Actually that is a good question, can we get an elder on this?

MJB (one of the biggest Que fans after the SQFs formation) said that the only cards Que works on is Mist and Demonic Mist, and specifically mentioned that Mistakes Made wouldn't work.

Which almost guarantees that the elders would rule the other way. ;)

They don't have the gift of logic so I don't see how they could rule any other way.

Well...well...you're just...well...dumb.

If Que was allowed to make Mistakes Made CBN, then you could play Joseph's Brother's Scheme in your prep/discard phase with High Places. And that would be a bit too combolicious for T2 (and possibly T1). So even if it had been originally ruled that only character strings were taken into account with such abilities, it wouldn't have taken long for the rule to change because of T2 being broken again.  :P

I think that any card with the letters "Mist" in that order should work. It doesn't say "The word 'Mist'", it just says, "mist".

High Places says "the word "place"". "Placed" is not "place" therefore you shouldn't be able to use JBS with High Places (unless there's some added rule that past tense of a word matches present tense of a word in Redemption). This is the opposite of Que who merely says "with "Mist" in the title". I don't see why you are treating both cards as the same when one specifies "the word" and the other doesn't.

Because the original ruling dealt with Leviathan and the phrase "'ship' in the title"--not the phrase "the word 'ship' in the title."

What has "ship" in the title that it would be HOLY OHNOES for Leviathan to negate?

Nothing I can think of. I don't believe the original ruling was put in place to stop any specific combo. It is just one of those routine ruling questions that got asked and answered years ago.
