This came up in a game and we were not sure what to do. Attack with Ehud who has been set aside with Provisions. Does provisions trump Ehuds ability?
Ehud - Brigade: Yellow • Ability: 7 / 4 • Class: Warrior • Special Ability: Interrupt Wall of Protection and choose a male Evil Character from opponent's territory to block. Ehud has first strike.
Provisions - Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Green • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Set Hero aside for 2 turns. On return, holder may draw 2 cards and may choose the Evil Character his opponent's uses to block Hero's next rescue attempt.

Yes, character abilities activate before gained abilities. First Ehud would CTB with his SA, then he would CTB with Provisions.
-
The better question is... would Ehuds interruption of Wall of Protection last until Provisions finished?
... even better question is... Why would you want a Provisioned Ehud anyways?

The interruption of WoP will end when Ehud choosed the blocker with his SA.

People Bill's age will do all kinds of crazy things. :D

Provisions has the advantage of being a gained ability, which means it can't be negated. Useful in case of CoM.

First this was in type 2. Ehud just happend to be the only judge I could use provisions on. Second often because of Ehuds first strike ability he doesn't get to play first which is deadly in type 2. With provisions I can use my own evil charactor to block.
So back to my real question. I know I would chose first with ehud and then I would chose with provisions. Would there be two evil charactors in battle or would my second choise replace the first choise?
-
I believe he would replace the first character.
-
The second choice will replace the first.

So you're saying I should add anti-Ehud cards to my Type 2 deck for this weekend? ;-)
Another reason to provision Ehud is if all of the other characters in your territory have already been provisioned.

Naw, just been playing around but Ehud didn't work as good as I expected. Had 5 in my deck until I played against my deck tester. That nasty Hobbit showed me the falsehood of my ways. Now its just Ehud Lite.
See you on Friday, hope Gil makes the trip with you.

Perhaps bring one into battle first so that they can't re-enter battle later (ie, a banding character).
-
Thats actually a really good idea. I have another fun idea too. ;D
-
Would the first blockers ability's activate?
-
I would assume so, its ability activates the instant it enters battle doesn't it?
