Can a card be protected from a negate?

No, unless you count "Cannot be Negated" abilities which are pseudo-protects. I'm trying to think of an example where this would come into play, and I'm having trouble. Did you have a situation in mind?

yes but it's becoming clear on how negated gets through protect. seems like it's just like immunity which is still negatable

Im trying to understand how Caesarea Philippi is negatable

Caesarea Philippi (Di)

Type: Site • Brigade: Red • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Protect N.T. human Evil Characters in your territory from capture and discard abilities on opponents' cards. Protect N.T. Sites in your territory from opponents' cards.

I personally believe that "protect" abilities essentially shield the targets (N.T. human EC's & Sites in this case) from mentioned actions (capture & d/c), meaning that there is NO WAY that the action can reach the target.

Protect could essentially be understood as "is immune to" from everything I have ever read.

centenarian negates but the site is still protected. Im guessing you can't be protected from a negate unless the card says can't be negated then.

Correct. Cannot be Negated isn't really a protect ability, but it basically protects the ability from being negated.
