Title: Prophet identifier
Post by: Josh on May 14, 2014, 01:41:36 PM
Found another (irrelevant) one - Rebekah, the wife of Isaac.  See Genesis 25:23, when God told her what her sons would do and be, and Romans chapter 9, when Paul reiterates that God revealed to her things her sons would do and be.

Elder confirm?

I wouldn't say it's irrelevant at all, but I'd have to agree based on the definition of prophet and the fact that Mary and Elisabeth are both prophets.  In the same vein, Sarah would need to be made a prophet, and probably many more.

Or perhaps we should look at the definition of prophet and adjust it so that we don't add a bunch more people who were told individually about the future or God's plan without the intention that they be 'prophesying' about it, but that's just me.

It seems that Genesis, based on God revealing His plans for Abraham's line of descendants and His promises for them, naturally will have a lot of "prophets" as we have them currently defined.  But you know, Israel was the nation of promise; maybe reprinting all those Genesis heroes with green brigade added could create a subtheme that makes a lot of Biblical sense.

I would blanch at the sight of facing a deck wtih Obadiah's caves, hidden treasures, and genesis enhancements all in the same deck. If they did Genesis would be much more OP than they already are.

I hate to break it to you...but all that and more already exists and is played (http://redemption.wikia.com/wiki/Joseph_(FF2)).

Yeah, but he is one person. I have played him, but I find that most people get rid of him with Martyr quickly, he is one, another would be to much in my opinion.

Say hello to his little friends, Momma Bear (http://redemption.wikia.com/wiki/Rachel_(FF2)) and Big Bro (http://redemption.wikia.com/wiki/Judah_(TP)).

...Joe is protected from discard...

Well, just in battle.  If he is out of battle (or negated), then CM works just fine.

Still, there are so many ways to get Joe out and to protect him, along with ridiculous play-first options, hence my points above.

Oh gosh, hadn't realized that, I should put another deck together revolving around him! May play it at Nats!

Of course, there is one sure way to deal with Joseph regardless... (http://redemption.wikia.com/wiki/Joseph_in_Prison_(Pa))

Back to the subject at hand, any Elder (or other) input on making more prophets?

Wouldn't Obi's caves put the kibosh to that?

Sure, but it's a CBN battle winner that would still get rid of Joseph for a bit until they draw him (or search for him) again. I don't think I've ever actually seen a Genesis offense that used Caves, though. I personally don't use it in my Genesis offense since it's a dead card without Joseph (unless you build a non-standard Genesis offense with more green).
